A remarkable example of post-war Swiss chronograph craftsmanship, this Breitling Vintage Chronograph Ref. 171 features a solid 18K rose gold case and the legendary Venus 170 manual-wind movement.
Produced during the late 1940s to early 1950s, this chronograph showcases elegant Arabic numerals, twin-register layout, and dual tachymeter and telemeter scales. The beautifully aged dial has developed a warm vintage character that complements the rose gold case and hands, creating a cohesive appearance rarely found in examples of this age.
At its heart is the Venus 170 column-wheel chronograph movement, incorporating Heuer’s patented oscillating pinion system—an important innovation that helped shape modern chronograph design.
The watch has been newly serviced and is running well.
